Passengers who drink the tap water

“Drinking water from the tap on a plane is horrifying,” says flight attendant Craig Wilcox. And, according to one study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, Wilcox has a right to be scared.

The research found that many flights’ water supply tested positive for a range of bacteria that could cause illness (though no dangerous infectious microorganisms, such as E. coli, Legionella, and Enterococcus, were found).

Flight attendants and researchers strongly advise airline passengers to never drink water aboard an airplane unless it’s sealed in a bottle. So, if the stewardess avoids drinking tap water, you should do that too.

  2. I can relate to the issues flight attendants face. They have a massive responsibility to protect passengers and courtesy should be given them. I used to do air rescue and people don’t realize the fear and emotion I felt when a rescue mission was called. The flight attendants face long hours from home and a normal social life isn’t likely. They would rather have a respectable friend on their flights and that means a lot more than people could ever know. I would want them to be a true friend regardless of their work because they may be the one who saves your life and it can be at a terrible expense. So when you fly be courteous, respectful, and polite. Those simple things means a lot.
