Jane Fonda is an American actress, political activist and former fashion model. Fonda is the recipient of numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards, seven Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, the AFI Life Achievement Award, to name a few.
Before her acting career, Fonda was a model and appeared twice on the cover of Vogue. She said she struggled with bulimia nervosa for decades, but kept it a secret from the world. Fonda said she wasn’t very happy from puberty until she was 50, and in her 40s bulimia worsened, because the older she got, the worse it got, especially her recovery. She added that she had to make a choice between living or dying, so she chose to fill that empty space with something.
