Frank Keat spent 65 years working with horses and his last and only wish was to see his favorite horse one more time to say his final goodbye. He wanted to make sure that his loving horse will make him a visit before the battle with cancer ends. Keat couldn’t be transported to the stable, so the staff at Bodmin Hospital in Cornwall, England ensured he would get a visit from his old buddy before it was too late. Nurses arranged this visit properly. On October 23, Frank Keat was transported to the hospital patio and there was waiting for him, Early Morn, his prized 5 years old horse.

Unfortunately, Keat died three days later, at 80. His son, Tim said that it was a really nice last gift and a wonderful gesture by the nurses to arrange for his horse to visit him like that. He also thanked all the staff on the ward for what they did.

As Keat savoured his time with his buddy, the staff couldn’t help but get really emotional. “I can honestly say that this is the most memorable day of my career”, nurse Samantha Russell said. “The emotion was overwhelming and there wasn’t a dry eye on the ward.”
