He also dated his Murder by Numbers co-star Sandra Bullock from 2002 to 2003 and has been in a relationship with his The Place Beyond the Pines co-star Eva Mendes since September 2011. In addition, he and Mendes are still together and have two daughters together.
Going back to him and Rachel, their relationship was so tumultuous behind the scenes, and it seems that Gosling asked director Nick Cassavetes if they could bring in another girl for the role of Allie. However, they were one of the most adored couples of that time.
