Gene Hackman
Gene Hackman is an American retired actor who has received numerous accolades, including two Oscars, four Golden Globes, a Screen Actors Guild Award and two BAFTAs.
He starred in a lot of films, such as The Poseidon Adventure (1972), The Conversation (1974), French Connection II (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Superman: The Movie (1978), to name a few.
In 2008, when he promoted his third novel, Hackman announced that he had retired from acting. With the help of undersea archaeologist Daniel Lenihan, Hackman has written three historical fiction novels called Wake of the Perdido Star (1999), Justice for None (2004) and Escape from Andersonville (2008).

Very misleading title. None of these stars went on to “regular” jobs.
Resting on your wealth and racing cars or writing books is not having a regular job.
