3. The Wolfman (2010)
Years before the Universal Pictures The Mummy remake, the studio tried (and failed) to rebuild another property of Universal Classic Monsters: 1941’s The Wolf Man.
Director Joe Johnston clearly had high ambitions, and the impressive cast – including Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, and Emily Blunt – that did the best they could.
However, the movie was so bad that even the head of the Universe called it one of the worst movies he has ever made. And because it cost an amazing $150 million, its $140 million gross worldwide made it a pretty expensive flop.
