4. Old Talbott Tavern

Having been open since 1779 and still running, the Old Talbott Tavern is the oldest western tavern in the U.S.

It’s located in Bardstown, Kentucky and it is believed to be one of the most haunted inns in America.

Many historic personalities have walked in this tavern such as Queen Marie of Romania, Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson.

The strange part about the Old Talbott Tavern is that in 2 years, six children of the original owner died.

Fun fact: The legend says that some guests never left, while every room is named after the alleged ghost that haunts the room.

  1. Lucky enough to have been to 3. Would personally also add Beechman arms if Rhinebeck NY to the list though the inn itself, like the wayside Inn in MA are mire spectacular tan even the wonderful food.
