After being recovered (as much as it was possible in his situation), Mitch returned home to his family. The former soldier soon realized that his baby son was so afraid of his face, he didn’t want to spend time with him anymore.
Right that minute, he decided he’d do anything for a face transplant that would make him look good again.
The complex operation lasted over 14 hours and a team of some of the best doctors and nurses out there. By the end of the surgery, Mitch had new lips, nose and eyelids. Also, they connected all of the nerves that allow him to move every inch of his face.
