Mike Kelley is an architectural photographer living in Los Angeles. Although all of his projects are interesting, it’s the air traffic photography series that got everybody’s attention.
Mike spent 2 years to capture flight departures and arrivals in differnet airports from all over the world. His surreal photos were created by combining hundreds of shots taken at the same hour and the same spot on different days. If that’s not a real act of patience, I don’t know what is!

#1 Lax 24l – No Turn Before Shoreline

This is shot from Dockweiler beach in Los Angeles directly under the path of departing flights between the hours of 5-7pm, when light from the setting sun illuminates the bottoms of the planes.
