As you probably already know, the Oscar winners fell for each other while filming the 2005 action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Their relationship was extremely controversial and publicized because Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston at the time. However, Aniston announced their separation in January 2005, and the divorce was finalized in October 2005.
During a 2007 interview for Vogue, Angelina Jolie said that they “spent a lot of time contemplating and thinking and talking about what we both wanted in life and realized that we wanted very, very similar things. And then we just continued to take time. We remained very, very good friends — with this realization — for a long time. And then life developed in a way where we could be together, where it felt like something we would do, we should do.”
They have six children together, got married in 2015 but separated in 2016.
