You’re breaking out

As you probably know, acne is usually a genetic or hormonal condition, but it could also be a symptom of other problems and it affects nearly 10 percent of the world’s population.

According to Joshua Zeichner, MD, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, “stress may trigger a flare up. It has been well-documented that stress in the workplace or in school during testing periods is associated with the worsaening of acne. When you sleep, cortisol levels naturally go down.”

In addition, sugary and starchy foods can lead to acne as well, because they increase blood sugar levels and encourage inflammation. Nevertheless, many studies have found a link between dairy products, such as cow’s milk, and acne. It has been proven that cow’s milk contains certain amino acids that stimulate the liver to produce more substances that can lead to acne.

You feel tired all the time

Well, the truth is that we all experience tiredness from time to time and it is perfectly normal, but when this feeling becomes overwhelming and can’t be relieved by sleep and rest, then you should talk to your doctor as soon as possible.

In addition, you may feel tired if you eat a lot of carbohydrate-rich foods, such as pizza or cakes. “Low blood sugar, also known as hypoglycemia, can cause the sleepiness and fatigue that people get in the afternoon without them realizing why they feel that way,” said Tania Dempsey, MD.
