Keeping your windows uncovered all day can be beneficial for your indoor plants, but unfortunately this doesn’t apply to floors. Many people don’t know, but UV rays can be dangerous for your flooring, so try to protect them and keep your blinds down, if possible.
“Harsh UV rays can cause premature fading and discoloration to floors, especially hardwood flooring,” says flooring expert Paul Carter, executive vice president and chief purchasing officer at Empire Today.
Of course, it doesn’t mean that you have to live in the dark, but try to keep them closed when you head out for the day.
