They tell you that you won something
You can’t become a millionaire if you haven’t played any games, right? So, don’t trust anyone who calls you to say that you have won something incredible, such as a phone, luxury vacation, or a lot of money, especially if you haven’t participated in any contest.
“In a legitimate lottery or sweepstakes, you have to enter the contest somehow,” says Velasquez. “If you ever ‘win’ a prize that you didn’t enter — especially one with a prize worth millions of dollars — you’re probably being scammed.”
