Magazines
Many of the items reviewed so far have experienced prices growing much more slowly than overall prices. That’s not the case with many magazines. Consider, for example, that between 1989 and 2019, the cost of a single issue of New Yorker magazine has gone from $1.75 to $8.99, surging 414%.
People magazine went from $1.79 to $5.99, rising 235%, while both Vogue and Fortune magazines roughly doubled in price, respectively jumping from $3.00 to $6.99 and from $3.50 to $6.99 per issue.
