A woman from Phoenix, Arizona suffers from a rare condition – Foreign Accent Syndrome – that causes her to speak in many foreign accents. 45-year-old Michelle Myers speaks British, Irish and Australian, even if she never traveled outside of the United States. She was diagnosed with this condition back in 2015.
One day after going to bed with an annoying headache, Myers woke up being unable to speak and with the left part of her body numb. She was taken to West Valley Hospital in Goodyear where her doctors said that she was suffering from loss of speech – aphasia – which is often related to brain injuries or strokes.
