In 2013. Elisa Lam was photographed behaving weirdly as if responding to an unknown presence in an elevator after which she disappeared. Later she was found dead in the building’s water tank.

Five days prior to her body’s discovery, the Los Angeles Police Department released a video of the last time Ms. Lam was known to have been seen. The footage was captured by an elevator security camera. In the footage, Lam is seen exiting and re-entering the elevator, talking and gesturing in the hallway outside, and sometimes seeming to hide within the elevator which itself appears to be malfunctioning.
