Batteries start to degrade as soon as they are manufactured whether or not they are in use. The usable shelf life of a battery is based on the size and type of battery as well as how it is stored. For best results, store batteries in a dry and cool environment, and keep an eye on the expiration dates printed on the battery or packaging.
