The plot to kill Castro
During the 70s there were many attempts to kill the Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, but none so nutty as the exploding seashell. The CIA knew that the Cuban dictator was a huge fan of scuba-diving, so they plotted to plant a colored conch shell triggered to explode when he touched it.
