Erin Brockovich’s life has an empowering and strong story about the ambition and determination of a middle-class woman. Julia Roberts played the role of Erin, a small-town lawyer and mom of three kids. The woman finds herself in the position of fighting against a case of water poisoning in her town, that made people suffer from cancerous diseases.
Erin Brockovich became popular when she built a case against utility company Pacific Gas & Electric. They used to operate a natural gas pumping station and until 1966, they used chemicals, which seeped into Hinkley’s – a small community in the Mojave Desert – water supply.
In the movie directed by Steven Soderbergh, Julia Roberts flawlessly won an Oscar for the role she played in this movie.
