On November 22, 1963, Jackie was sitting in a car next to her husband, dressed in a pink tailor suit, that looked like one of Chanel’s creations. The president was shot while he was sitting next to his wife and her whole suit was covered in blood.
He was assassinated from a nearby tall building, by a former US Marine, Lee Harvey Oswald. Governor John Connally, who was in the back car when the attack happened, was also seriously wounded.
They rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital, but the president was pronounced dead 30 minutes after the attack.
Even though she was covered in her husband’s blood, the first lady didn’t want to change her clothes, because she wanted to show the world what happened to her. She wanted to show the killers what they have done to her and also to her husband.
