The actor Humphrey Bogart met the love of his life, Lauren Bacall when they were filming together in 1944, for the classic movie “To Have and Have Not”. They immediately fell in love with one another and became one of the most famous and appreciated Hollywood couples.

“You know how to whistle, don’t you, Steve?”, is one of the greatest scenes of Bacall’s, which is also from the movie where she met her partner. Before they got married, Lauren gave her boyfriend a bracelet that had a whistle as a lucky charm. They had been married for 12 years, until the actor died in 1957, because of cancer.

Shortly before his ashes were buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Lauren Bacall slipped the whistle lucky charm in her husband’s urn.

During his life, President John F. Kennedy was a passionate collector of scrimshaw art, which represent parts of whalebone or walrus ivory, generally engraved by whalers and mariners.

His wife, Jaqueline Kennedy liked her husband’s passion, so she went to an artist named Milton K. Delano in order to engrave the Presidential Seal on an ancient tooth from a bull whale. She gave the piece to the president in 1962, as a Christmas gift.

He loved this gift so much, that after he was assassinated in November 1963, he was buried with the scrimshaw at Arlington National Cemetery.

The actor George Burns was extremely passionate about cigars, he couldn’t stop smoking even though he was advised by doctors to do so. “If I’d taken my doctor’s advice and quit smoking when he advised me to, I wouldn’t have lived to go to his funeral,” quipped the comedian during an interview with Cigar Aficionado in 1994.

George Burns was recognized for his cigar addiction, and also for his one-liners. He died a few days after he celebrated his 100th birthday in March 1996.

He was buried at Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles, next to his second wife’s grave, Gracie Allen. His family couldn’t say goodbye to the actor without giving him a tiny piece of what he loved so much during his life, so in his breast pocket, they put three of his treasured tobaccos.
