He married actress Rachel Miner at the age of 17. They divorced in 2002. In 2004 he was arrested in Oklahoma City for possession of marijuana, Xanax and clonazepam. He was released on bail, after which he received a suspended sentenced of one year in prison. Subsequently, drug use has taken control over his life, at one point his health being visibly affected due to heroin addiction which cost him somewhere around $6,000 a month.
In recent years, the relationship with Brenda Song, with whom he recently had a child, has determined the actor to try and succeed in putting his life in order and getting rid of the drug addiction that literally threatened his life. At 40, he leads a life away from the spotlight and social media, which seems to do him good.
