The trophy is in the shape of a knight and it’s called the “Academy Award of Merit”. However, people usually refer to it by its short name, the “Oscar”.
This small sculpture was initially created by George Stanley and it was inspired by a sketch originally created by Cedric Gibbons. The first edition of this beautiful and glamorous event took place in 1929, during a private dinner party hosted by Douglas Fairbanks at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Did Chris Rock apologize to Jada Pickett Smith for that comment he made about her at the Academy Awards ? If he didn’t, he sure as hell needs to ! I think Will was justified in doing what he did, & I believe the Academy was too harsh in banning Will for 10 years. Chris needs to watch his mouth, AND Apologize Big Time to Jada !!
