A few days after the incident that occurred at the 94th edition of the Academy Awards, the managers decided that Will Smith is no longer welcomed there. As of April 8, 2022, the actor will be blocked from attending all Academy ceremonies, including both in-person and virtual events for a period of 10 years.
However, this decision won’t interfere with his awards eligibility. Will Smith wanted to make a statement regarding this subject and he said that he “respects and accepts” the decision.
That night after he slapped Chris Rock, Smith won the Oscar for his role in “King Richard”. There were many people who believed that his trophy would be confiscated now that he is no longer a member, but that isn’t true. All people who were banned from the Oscars have their statuettes at home.

Did Chris Rock apologize to Jada Pickett Smith for that comment he made about her at the Academy Awards ? If he didn’t, he sure as hell needs to ! I think Will was justified in doing what he did, & I believe the Academy was too harsh in banning Will for 10 years. Chris needs to watch his mouth, AND Apologize Big Time to Jada !!
