4. Karyn Parsons
Even though Karyn Parsons is no longer an actress, she is known for starring on the NBC sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, as Hilary Banks, from 1990 to 1996. She also played the role of Toni in the show “The Job”, which ran from 2001 to 2002.
When she realized that acting was not her biggest dream anymore, she decided to leave Hollywood and focus all her attention and resources on something new and exciting.
This is why she founded a nonprofit organization which is called Sweet Blackberry and it is responsible for developing content that is used to teach kids about the history of Black people.
Besides running this group, she is also a writer for children’s books.
