The Passion of Christ

One of the reasons why The Passion of Christ became so popular is, the great amount of violence involved while showing the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection. The movie was banned in many countries around the world, but people just couldn’t avoid the death of some people who saw it in the cinema.

The first person who passed away while watching the film was 56-year-old Peggy Scott from Kansas, who suffered a fatal heart attack during the crucifixion scene of the movie. It was already well known that it was the most emotional part of the script. Although a nurse tried to revive Scott, there was nothing to be done for the poor viewer anymore.

Only one month later, Jose Geraldo Soares, a 43-year-old pastor from Brazil, had the same fate at the theatre. At some point during the film, the other members of the congregation that were with him noticed that the man lost consciousness and the doctor’s efforts to save him were useless.
