As Will Hunting is talking to his therapist, Sean, the man tells a story about farts that related to his dead wife and Will bursts out laughing. Telling stories about farts wasn’t actually part of the script, which is why Matt Damon’s character was laughing so hard. Robin Williams’ joke fit so well into character, that they actually kept the scene for the movie.
