This may have started in the 1980s, but both of these looks were incredibly popular in the following decade, and they were egregious enough to make our list. Thanks to New Kids on the Block exploding into the mainstream consciousness, the rat tail became a popular look. It’s as appealing as it sounds, and it became a staple of the early part of the decade.
