Check the expiration date next time you’re shopping! This may sound extreme, but it’s true, one Colorado family ended up eating cereal from 1997. The Carlese family from Littleton, Colorado bought a box of Quaker granola cereal without checking the expiration date on Monday.
This box of Quaker granola cereal expired way back in February of 1997. They realized what they had bought when they sat down for a serving of cereal. “I just started eating and thinking, ‘It just tastes funny. It must be okay,’” Josiah told Lakewood Patch.
