Sid Vicious
- Crime: charged for killing his girlfriend, in 1978
John Simon Ritchie known as Sid Vicious was an English bassist and vocalist. He gained fame as a member of the Sex Pistols, a punk rock band. He was addicted to intravenous drugs along with his prostitute girlfriend, American Nancy Spungen.
One day, when he woke up while staying in their room at the Hotel Chelsea in New York, he found his girlfriend stabbed, lying dead in a pool of blood in the bathroom. He was found guilty and arrested. Sid said that he stabbed her during an argument, but didn’t want to kill her. He also said that he didn’t remember that scene. The bassist died a few months later from a drug overdose.
O.J. Simpson
- Crime: charged for the murders of his ex-wife and her friend, in 1994
Orenthal James Simpson is a former NFL football star, actor, broadcaster and a popular figure because he was acquitted of the murders of his (then) wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ronald Goldman. According to officials, Simpson was acquitted in a high-profile criminal trial, even though the evidence and DNA showed that he was likely responsible for their deaths.
However, in 2008, he was sentenced to up to 33 years in prison for kidnapping and armed robbery of two sports equipment dealers who he accused of stealing sports memorabilia that belonged to him. He was released from prison in 2017. Unfortunately, we will probably never know for sure whether he killed his ex wife and her friend or not. What do you think?
