Don’t skip the lunch break walk

Of course, preparing your lunch at home can be a great way to improve your diet and eat healthy, but you should never skip occasional breaks that involve leaving the building for a few minutes. Going outside for at least five minutes while you are at work can help you get more vitamin D. This type of vitamin is responsible for your bone health, mental health and strengthening the immune system.

So, even though you prepare your lunch at home, you should also consider a few breaks every two hours to get more vitamin D. According to medical experts, more than 42 percent of Americans are deficient in vitamin D, which means that they are more likely to get sick often.

“If you’re going to get it from the sun, about 20 to 25 minutes of exposure is helpful,” says Stephen Honig, MD, director of the Osteoporosis Center at the Hospital for Joint Diseases, in New York City.

“You can have all the calcium in the world, [but] it doesn’t get absorbed into your bones” without this type of vitamin, namely vitamin D, said Donald Ford, MD, a family medicine physician at Cleveland Clinic.

So, if you want to be healthy and fit, you should get more vitamin D. In some cases, supplements can help, but you have to talk to your doctor first to see if you have a deficiency.

You can opt for frozen fruits as well

Frozen fruits and vegetables are as healthy and nutritious as fresh ones, so if you want to improve your diet you can consider including frozen foods as well. According to nutritionists, frozen fruits and vegetables, such as spinach and berries, don’t contain additives, such as salt or sugar, to stand the test of time.

In fact, they are very versatile, which means that you can use them in various recipes, from smoothies to cakes. Drinking a smoothie before or after a workout can improve your physical performance and increase your muscle mass. Replacing a snack with a smoothie is also beneficial in helping you maintain your desired body mass.

So, the next time you are not sure if frozen fruits and vegetables are good for your health, you should know that studies have shown that they are just as healthy and nutritious as fresh ones.
