Don’t forget about your breakfast
Well, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and for good reason! If you want to fight off morning fatigue and start your day properly, then it’s essential to have breakfast. It has been proven that breakfast can actually help you focus more and be more productive throughout the day.
According to dietitian Sarah Elder, “the body uses a lot of energy stores for growth and repair through the night. Eating a balanced breakfast helps to up our energy, as well as protein and calcium used throughout the night.”
“Studies have found that although people who skip breakfast eat slightly fewer calories during the day, they tend to have higher body mass index or BMI. We use BMI, the ratio of a person’s weight compared to height, as an easy measure of whether someone is in the range of his or her healthy weight. A BMI of 25 or higher, for example, indicates that someone is overweight and needs to come back to their ideal weight,” added Christy C. Tangney, Ph.D., a clinical dietitian at Rush University Medical Center.
In other words, if you want to lose a few extra pounds, you should still have breakfast.
Practice mindfulness and adopt a positive thinking
Another important thing that you have to do right after you wake up in the morning is to focus only on positive thoughts that can help you stay happy and in a good mood all day long. If your job and other things in your life can make you feel stressed and anxious, you will notice this when you wake up, because they contribute to your morning fatigue.
So, try to find your stressors and work on them! Repeat in the mirror some positive statements, such as “I will have a good day”, “I am very happy today”, “I look great and I love my smile” and so on.
