Stress can weaken your immune system
The stress hormone, cortisol, can suppress the effectiveness of your immune system. “Eliminating or modifying these factors in one’s life is vital to protect and augment the immune response. It’s necessary to buffer the inevitability of the aging process,” said clinical immunologist Leonard Calabrese, DO.
“Stress can make the allergic response worse,” says Dr. Ahmad Sedaghat. “We don’t know why exactly, but we think stress hormones can ramp up the already exaggerated immune system response to allergens.”
During the coronavirus outbreak, it is very important to take care of our health, because people who have a weak immune system will be severely affected. Unfortunately, stressed people are more likely to catch colds and other viruses.
