Test for skin cancer

Even though it may sound dramatic, it’s better to stay safe than to try to combat some diseases. According to a recent study, two in ten Americans have skin cancer.

“The American Academy of Dermatology recommends yearly skin cancer screenings starting at age 40, assuming you haven’t had any skin cancer before or a family history of melanoma. You should also be doing monthly skin examinations on yourself and schedule a yearly skin examination with a board-certified dermatologist,” says Gohara.

“Melanoma is now the number-two skin cancer in young women, so it’s not unheard of for these things to be developing early. If you’ve been in a tanning booth just once, it would be wise to get a skin cancer screening,” Gohara added.
