Why is it not that easy to save money?

Well, the process of saving money will always be difficult, especially for people who do not have a motivating salary or that can be increased monthly. Plus, many people who have the same average salary for a long time believe that they have worked hard and a part of their income should satisfy their own whims.

“There’s a gap between stimulus and response, in other words, there is a trigger. Maybe you get sent an email from your favorite shoe brand that tells you about a sale. Or there’s the, ‘It’s Friday and I’ve had a hard week’ outlook. It may feel like we’ve got no control over [the trigger] and the response – but actually, we do,” Simonne Gnessen, the founder of Wise Monkey Financial Coaching told Vogue.

You will succeed if you are willing to change your shopping behavior. Whether we talk about saving money or trying to buy only what we actually need, we have to stay motivated and focus just on our goals.

“Let’s widen the gap between stimulus and response, so that you’re not doing things on autopilot, but, instead, putting things in your way. For instance, with online shopping you could have a rule that you don’t actually purchase anything, instead, you put items in the basket, but leave them there for 24 hours,” Gnessen said.
