Is a hot bath effective in combating the virus?
Well, taking a hot bath is one of the best things that we need to do after a long day at work, but this won’t protect you from Coronavirus. So, whether we stay in the snow or we burn our skin in a hot shower all we do is get sick from other diseases or weaken our immune system. Our body temperature remains the same, namely between 36.5°C and 37°C. So, a hot shower can be harmful, but it won’t prevent you from coronavirus.
“Taking a hot bath will not prevent you from catching COVID-19. Your normal body temperature remains around 36.5°C to 37°C, regardless of the temperature of your bath or shower. Actually, taking a hot bath with extremely hot water can be harmful, as it can burn you. The best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 is by frequently cleaning your hands. By doing this you eliminate viruses that may be on your hands and avoid infection that could occur by then touching your eyes, mouth, and nose,” said WHO.
