Are thermal scanners effective?
Yes, they are really effective in detecting people who have a higher body temperature. Fever is a sign of coronavirus. Fever usually occurs as a reaction of the body fighting an infection. But some people can be infected with coronavirus and not show symptoms of fever because it sometimes appears after a few days.
“However, they cannot detect people who are infected but are not yet sick with a fever. This is because it takes between 2 and 10 days before people who are infected become sick and develop a fever,” said WHO.
