Know the difference between being lonely and being alone

There are many people who don’t know the difference between being lonely and being alone. So, let’s try to figure it out! First of all, it’s important to remember that you can be alone without feeling lonely and you can be lonely even if you are surrounded by people.

In general, loneliness can be a symptom, an emotional response to a specific event that has affected you in one way or another. To be more specific, you are alone when you are by yourself in a certain circumstance, and loneliness can make you feel abandoned or sad even though you are around other people. According to health experts, people who feel lonely are more likely to develop depression, stress and anxiety.

Start new conversations

In general, people tend to avoid chatting or speaking first because they have the false impression that they look ‘needy’ or ‘annoying’, but if you want to make new friends, exchange energy and form connections, you have to make the first step. In fact, this is just a stereotype.

According to experts in psychology, people who see each other often tend to form a strong connection and increase the level of attractiveness between them. Plus, if you compliment someone else who seemed annoying at first (or they thought that you are the annoying one) you will both start to like each other.

In other words, if you want to make new friends or start a new relationship with someone, just try to start a conversation and be yourself. Don’t be hesitant to talk to people, even though you don’t like them at first or you have a feeling that they don’t like you back. Some of these assumptions will disappear when you start talking.
