A boxing coach faked his own death after he found out that his wife hired a hit man to kill him. Ramon Sosa is a boxing coach in Houston and he started to work with the Houston detectives and FBI to prove that his wife, Maria Sosa wanted to have him killed. Well…she exposed her maleficent intentions, because the person she hired is a former boxing student of Ramon’s and also a good friend. When Ramon heard all of this, he decided to fake his death using makeup and a fake blood dripping on his face from a gunshot. Meanwhile his wife saw a photo with her dead husband and that’s when the police nailed Maria Sosa.

“Unwittingly, she had approached a guy called Gustavo to see if he could organize the hit, without realizing we were friends,” Ramon told The Sun. “I knew him because I’d coached him. He’d been in trouble in the past. At first, when he called and said he needed to see me because someone ‘wanted to kill me’ I thought he was joking. Then we devised a plan, for him to wear a wire and tape her offering money to have me killed, before turning the evidence over to the cops.”

Gustavo, the former boxing student of Ramon’s was paid with £1,500 ($1960 USD) to kill Ramon, but fortunately the boxer had taped a microphone and recorded the exchange. After this he said it all to Houston Police and also turned the incriminating tape. “After recording his meeting with her, where Gustavo pretended to know two hitmen, we took the tape to the police, who were shocked — but came up with a great plan. They asked me to pretend to be dead, so we could show the pictures to Lulu. Lying in the dirt, pretending to be dead, was terrifying,” Ramon recalled. “When I first met Lulu, I certainly didn’t expect our relationship to end like that.” Ramon said.

After Ramon spent three days hiding in a hotel room, the “hitman” who was an undercover police officer, met Ramon’s wife and showed her the photos with her dead husband. Ramon said that the financial problems began to cause a strain in their marriage in 2015. “I thought we’d work through it,” said Ramon. “Then, out of the blue, Lulu said, ‘I want a divorce.’” But he certainly didn’t expect that his wife was capable to attempt on his life. In the end, Maria Sosa pleaded guilty in court and she was jailed for 20 years.
