Converse’s global revenue totaled $2 billion (£1.5bn) in 2017, perhaps in part due to its new owner’s manufacturing decisions. Bought by Nike in 2003, the famous sneakers are now made in Nike’s giant facilities across the world, including factories in India and Brazil. Even the Chuck Taylor All Star shoes, famously worn by American basketball players, are reportedly imported from overseas.
