6. Catch Me If You Can
The character of Frank Abagnale Jr. is another incredible character you won’t believe actually existed. In his youth, he became an expert in forgery and disguise, cashing checks for millions of dollars.
When he was just a young adult, between the mid-1960s and the early 1970s, he used to forge checks and impersonate different professional identities. For example, he pretended to be a doctor in Georgia, a pilot for Pan American airlines, a professor at Brigham Young University and so many more.
In addition to that, he also cashed a lot more checks than you’d believe: more than $2 million in over 26 countries.
Frank Abagnale Jr. told everything in his memoir, which is called “Catch Me If You Can”. This was launched in 1980 and in 2002, Steven Spielberg directed a movie with the same name, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.
Maybe if it wasn’t based on a real-life story, it wouldn’t be so impressive, but giving the fact that it is…wow!
