Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn was a British actress and fashion icon. She started to gain more fame by starring in the romantic comedy Roman Holiday (1953) – her role in this film earned her an Oscar (making her the first actress to win one), a Golden Globe Award, and a BAFTA Award for a single performance. Nonetheless, Hepburn is still regarded as one of the most talented and beautiful actresses of all time.

In 1967, she decided to spend more time with her family, so she acted only occasionally. In 1988, after her screen retirement, she became an official UNICEF ambassador and went on several constructive field missions.

In 1992, four months before she died, Hepburn went to Somalia, saying that she “walked into a nightmare. I have seen famine in Ethiopia and Bangladesh, but I have seen nothing like this – so much worse than I could possibly have imagined. I wasn’t prepared for this. Taking care of children has nothing to do with politics. I think perhaps with time, instead of there being a politicization of humanitarian aid, there will be a humanization of politics.”

  1. Very misleading title. None of these stars went on to “regular” jobs.
Resting on your wealth and racing cars or writing books is not having a regular job.
