9. Conan The Barbarian (2011)
Technically speaking, Marcus Nispel’s film is not a remake, but a new interpretation of the character from Robert E. Howard’s fictional pulp novels. But really, you can’t make a Conan the Barbarian movie without comparing it to the 1982 movie that helped Arnold Schwarzenegger make a real name of himself.
This Conan stars Jason Momoa, who already was a big star before the film because of the well-known TV series Game of Thrones. However, not even its stellar power could compensate for a weak scenario. The film cost $90 million and earned only $48.8 million worldwide. Yikes. That should teach everyone a lesson about making movie remakes.
