Demi Lovato
Demi Lovato struggled with depression and eating disorders when she was a teenager and that led to drug abuse, and self-harm. She entered rehab and had been sober, until 2018 when she overdosed. This caused her three strokes, a heart attack and organ failure.
She got hospitalized but the episode left long-lasting effects on her body. Her brain was damaged due to the strokes and her vision was highly affected.
The singer became a strong activist for mental health, helping people cope with substance abuse after she faced the same problems. She recently released a documentary, called “Dancing With the Devil” where she openly talks about her addiction and her 2018 near-fatal substance abuse episode.
