People used to say ‘prunes’ when they took a photo
Many years ago people used to say ‘prunes’ for capturing the ideal facial expression in a photo. Nowadays people have replaced this word with another one, namely ‘cheese’, because all the attention falls on the smile. In the early days of photography smiling was considered a strange thing to do.
