You are not in the mood
If you or your partner think that one of you is neglecting your relationship, it may be because of hormonal disorders, as it usually affects your libido, said Dr. Bloom. In this case, you have to talk to your doctor and schedule a consultation to analyze your hormones, such as testosterone, estradiol, progesterone and so on. Hormone imbalances can lead to other serious diseases or can be a symptom of other health conditions, such as depression or heart issues.
“The hormone test will act as a roadmap, and 99 percent of the time testing will uncover the root causes,” Dr. Bloom said.
You are really stressed
Well, many people don’t know it, but stress can actually affect your overall health. So, you should try your best to find your stressors and solve the problem as soon as possible.
“When cortisol levels are unbalanced or spiked, this can cause us to feel moody, anxious, depressed, or suffer from a poor cognitive function–all equating to lower libido and self-worth. High cortisol can also cause an increase of body fat and inflammation, which can lead to less self-confidence, frustration, and reduced energy and overall well-being,” said Dr. Bloom.
“Stress is something that can be managed and fixed with the right support, and reduced stress can be a major player in improving your overall health and quality of life,” he adds.
