A strip club parking lot
In March 2011, Amenze Jones and her husband, Nate, were pulled over for speeding when they were hurrying to the hospital, where Amenze should normally have given birth. The police officer understood the reason for their speed and did not fine them, but they lost a lot of time.Â
Amenze told her husband to stop the car and call 911 because she couldn’t get to the hospital, so he did it in a parking spot at the FlashDancers, a popular strip club in Arlington, Texas. The baby was healthy and they named him William, and paramedics arrived a few minutes later.Â
Inside a hospital elevator
Even though you managed to arrive at the hospital, it doesn’t mean that you will actually give birth in the delivery room, sitting on a special bed, just like other lucky women do. In January 2012, Katie Thacker managed to get safely to the hospital in St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, but she gave birth inside the elevator instead of the delivery room. Nurses and her midwife helped Katie with this process and they named their baby boy Otis, after the company whose elevator was.Â
Her husband held the baby through the doors of the elevator and doctors said that Otis was healthy and the birth was without complications.Â
