Bonus: Controversial Wrecks!

The Andrea Doria:

This Italian ocean liner sank in 1956, 11 hours after colliding with another ship in foggy weather. Sitting on the coast of Massachusetts, the sinking killed 46, but 16 people have since died exploring the wreck. It’s at the edge of the continental shelf in 240ft of water, and personal property can still be found aboard. This makes the wreck tempting for divers, but the ship’s deadly maze has proved fatal for some, while others have fallen from failed equipment or decompression sickness.

The Lusitania:

To this day, there is controversy surrounding the Lusitania. The infamous ship rests in 300 feet of water off the coast of County Cort, Ireland. She carried 1,960 people when she set off for what was to be her last voyage in May 1915. A German U-boat torpedoed the Lusitania, sinking her in less than 20 minutes and ultimately causing the deaths of 1,197 people on board.
