Stretching before you exercise
Your high school PE teacher may have told you that stretching before a workout can keep you safe from exercise-related injuries. But, according to science, that’s not the case.
A 2013 meta-analysis published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine revealed that stretching before exercising did not decrease the likelihood of injury. “Our data do not support the use of stretching for injury prevention purposes, neither before or after exercise,” the researchers plainly stated.
