Magic Johnson

  • Purchased item: 30 Burger King franchises

Magic Johnson is an American former professional basketball player and former president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He’s considered one of the greatest players in NBA history. He retired abruptly in 1991 after publicly declaring that he had contracted HIV, but he returned in 1992, winning All Star MVP Award.

Overall, he’s the recipient of three NBA MVP Awards, nine NBA Finals appearances, twelve All-Star games, and ten All-NBA First and Second Team nominations.

However, even though his athletic image was often associated with promoting healthy eating, in 2004, he decided to buy about 30 Burger King franchises. But that’s not all! Johnson also built about 105 Starbucks franchises, but later sold them.
